One Night Promised - The One Night Trilogy #1 by Jodi Ellen Malpas - 4.5 STARS!!!

One Night Promised by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Four & a half M-oholic Stars
Blurb - Livy notices him the moment he walks into the coffee shop. He's heart-stoppingly stunning, with a blue-eyed gaze so piercing she's almost too distracted to take his order. When he walks out the door, she thinks she'll never see him again. Then she finds the note he left on his napkin . . . signed M.

All he wants is one night to worship her. No feelings, no commitment, nothing but pleasure. Every defense mechanism Livy has adopted during her solitary life is at risk of being obliterated by this confounding man. He's obnoxious but well-mannered. He's a gentleman but aloof. He's passionate but emotionless. Yet the fascination is so powerful, Livy can't deny him... or herself.

M awakens something in Livy, something deep and addictive that she never knew existed -- and that she fears only he can satisfy. But she senses that behind the fast cars, fancy suits, and posh apartment, he's aching inside. To have him, body and soul, she'll have to brave his dark secrets. Delving into his world and breaking down his defenses become her obsession - an obsession that could shatter her heart beyond repair...

One Night Promised is the first book in The One Night Trilogy; I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review so here goes...
Ok so the good bits...
·         The elusive M, he’s a bit of an enigma but by the end I was a total M-oholic!!
·         I love Livy she goes through such a journey in this book.
And the not so good bits...
·         I need the next book like NOW!!
Ok so I’m a massive fangirl for Jodi Ellen Malpas’s This Man series and I was super excited when I received my ARC of One Night Promised.
One Night Promised is not exactly what I was expecting, it’s a slow burn of a book, the story builds and builds until it hits its peak and explodes in a fireball of absolute bloody brilliance.
I will be honest I was expecting a male lead not unlike Jesse (This Man) who is a bit like a bull in a china shop, but M is pretty much the polar opposite.
In the first quarter of the book I really disliked M he’s seemed like an emotionally stunted asshole, but just as I was starting to write him off he began to show his true colours. Jodi Ellen Malpas has written his characters emersion from his emotional ice cube so beautifully that I have been totally converted. As M becomes more involved with Livy you can actually feel his obsession build and the chemistry between them is palpable.
This author knows how to write good sex and hell she’s done it again!! The sex is passionate and sexy but not too crude; it’s enough to make you blush but not have you panting on the train on the way home from work.
M is incredibly alpha but not in an in your face dominant way, he knows what he wants and definitely how to get it. His dominance is portrayed in subtle actions and words which all pull together to make him one seriously sexy man-god.
Livy, the poor girl has some issues (understatement of the year) as the story progresses she goes through a massive journey of self discovery and I have to say that I love the way that her character developed.
She’s quirky and unique and I found myself instantly engaging with her, I loved that she wasn’t super confident and was very down to earth and almost a normal girl.
M and Livy have some serious chemistry and for the first half of the book all of their interactions have a very sexual undertone. As daft as this may sound I found this a very visual book, I can picture M & Livy clearly in my head, I can picture what M’s apartment looked like. But for me the clearest and sweetest image from this book is M & Livy doing his ‘thing’ even thinking about it now makes me go arhhh.
This story may start off slow but by the end I was absolutely hooked, I simply could not put this book down. I was outraged reading the last page this book cannot end like that!!! I need to know what happens!!
Its officially My name is Gemma and I’m an M-oholic !!, it’s been 3 hours since my last hit of M and I can’t wait till the next book is released so I can get my next fix!!!
