ABOUT SWEET ROME
BLURB:
From the USA Today Best Selling Sweet Home Series, comes Sweet Fall; a tale of heartache, beating the odds and finding strength in the most unlikeliest of places.

We all have secrets.

Secrets well buried.

Until we find the one soul who makes the burden of such secrets just that little bit easier to bear.

Lexington "Lexi" Hart is a senior at the University of Alabama. Surrounded by her best friends, her loving family and having fulfilled her life-long dream of making the Crimson Tide cheer squad, everything is going exactly as she always dreamed it would. But beneath her happy exterior, demons lurk, threatening to jeopardize everything Lexi has worked to achieve. When events in her life become too much to cope with, Lexi finds herself spiraling down into the realm of her biggest fear. Lexi falls hard, victim once again to the only thing that can destroy her and, on the way, finds herself falling straight into the dangerous tattooed arms of a guy from the wrong side of the tracks.

Austin Carillo, starting Wide Receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide, must get picked in this year's NFL draft. He needs it. His brothers need it. Most importantly, his mother desperately needs it. Brought up in a world where the poor are forgotten, the sick are left to fend for themselves and no hero miraculously appears to pull you out of hell, Austin had no other choice but to make a living on the wrong side of the law—until football offered Austin the break to get his life back on track. But when a family tragedy drags him back into the clutches of the gang he believed he had left far behind, Austin finds himself falling. Falling back into criminal ways and falling deep into a suffocating darkness. Until a troubled yet kindred spirit stumbles across his path, where Austin quickly finds he is falling for a young woman, a young woman who might just have the power to save him from his worst enemy: himself.

Can two troubled souls find a lasting peace together? Or will they finally succumb to the demons threatening to destroy them?

ABOUT TILLIE COLE

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.

The Marriage Trap - Book #2 in the Marriage to a Billionaire Series by Jennifer Probst - 3.5 STARS!!

The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst

Three & 1/2 Old School Romance Stars
Blurb - To satisfy his late father’s wishes, hot and single billionaire Michael Conte must find a bride—someone who will fit into his traditional family back home in Italy—and fast, so his engaged sister will be allowed to wed. With no intention of being tied down, Michael “proposes” to fiery, free-spirited photographer Maggie Ryan: if she will play the part of his fiancée during her trip to Milan for a photo shoot, he will keep away from her married best friend, Alexa, and stop making Maggie nuts with their too-close-for- comfort flirtations.

But once in Italy, sexual tension sparks the hottest no-strings- attached arrangement on any continent. Could marriage be the most enticing trap of all?
The Marriage Trap is book # 2 in the Marriage to a Billionaire Series, having read book #1 The Marriage Bargain I knew what to expect from this book and when I decided I was in the mood for some old school romance I opted for this book and it didn’t disappoint.
Ok so the good bits...
·         This is a traditional romance story, you know what’s going to happen and you love every minute of it.
·         Maggie is lovely, she’s strong & Feisty and everything a good female lead should be.
·         Michael is a billionaire pirate lookalike with his long hair and Italian accent yum!!
And the not so good bits...
·         This is not a new story, it may have a modern day twist but it’s nothing new.
I want to start out by saying that I have always been an avid reader, I was encouraged at a young age by parents who read a lot and as an adult I still share books with my mom.
I was brought up on Georgette Hayer and Mills & Boon and I loved them.
In fact at one point whilst off work pregnant with my daughter I brought a job lot of 300 Mills & Boon books and spent about six months reading nothing else but old school smutty romances.
The Marriage Trap is essentially  a Mills & Boon style book, Its boy meets girl, circumstances take over and they figure they can never be together, they are still drawn to each other and have sex (usually a lot of sex!!) they then fall out and split up. Miraculously they find a way back to each other and live happily ever after.
Now this might sound like I’m slagging off this book but I’m honestly not, I LOVE Mills & Boon lol.
What I am saying is that if I’ve read this story once I’ve read it a thousand times!!
This book is not new and exotic, what it is though is a tried and tested formula that is guaranteed to bring a smile to any old romantics face.
I’m definitely an old romantic and I enjoyed it, it’s a fluffy, warm happy story about falling in love.
Overall I enjoyed this book it’s the perfect read if you are doubting that true love exists, if you need a romance book that’s guaranteed to make you go arrrhhh or if you fancy a smutty book that’s full of sex but doesn’t need an over 18’s warning sticker on it.

Firespell - Book #1 The Dark Elite Series by Chloe Neill - 3 STARS

Firespell by Chloe Neill

Three Underwhelming Stars
Blurb - When Lily Parker's guardians decided to send her away to a fancy boarding school in Chicago, Lily was shocked. So was St. Sophia's.

As the new girl at the elite St. Sophia's boarding school, Lily is surrounded by an ultra-rich bratpack. She's pretty sure her spoiled, petty, fashion-obsessed classmates are the most monstrous things she'll have to face, and surviving them and their cruel practical jokes is proving even tougher than the homework...

But on top of being the punchline to every joke, Lily's hearing strange noises and seeing bizarre things in the shadows of the creepy building. All building have their creaks and groans - but Lily could swear that she's being watched.

The only thing keeping her sane, so far, is her roommate Scout. But something strange is going on there too - Scout keeps disappearing late at night, reappearing bruised and tired, and she won't tell Lily where's she's been... until, that is, a prank leaves Lily trapped in the catacombs beneath the school. Lost in the dark Lily hear's footsteps heading towards her - it's Scout and she's running from a real monster.

Scout is part of a group of rebel teens with unique magical talents, sworn to protect the city against demons, vampires, and Reapers: magic users who've been corrupted by their power. Much as Lily would love to help, it's too dangerous without powers of her own - especially if she'd have to go up against the firespell herself...
Firespell is book #1 in The Dark Elite Series; I’m a massive fan of Chloe Neil’s Chicagoland Vampires series so I was excited to get started on this series.
Ok so the good bits...
·         Scout, she’s full of sass and attitude I loved her.
·         I like Lilly she is like a mini Nancy Drew lol
·         It’s set in a school but it’s full of intrigue and drama.
And the not so good bits...
·         It’s a bit of a slowburner not a lot really happened.
·         There are massive plot holes.
I did like this book but I didn’t love it.
Lilly is a cute teenager at a boarding school that gets thrown into the world of magical beings.
I liked Scout and the rest of the Adept but I have major issues with the whole you get powers from age 15-25 then you either have to give up your powers or become evil WTF!!!
The Dark Elite were a bit odd they kidnap people and then use ‘the force’ to suck the energy out of them, but we don’t really hear anything about them until ¾ of the way through this book.
When Scout is kidnapped the Adept go to rescue her and end up having a fight with the Dark Elite, is it just me or are Scout and the gang a bit underpowered. The twins do fire and ice which is cool but the rest of the gang’s powers are a bit underwhelming in comparison with the dark sides Firespell and earthquake abilities.
Now I appreciate that this is a book about teenagers but everything about it felt a bit immature.
I liked the head teacher I get the impression that she’s going to have a bigger role in the next couple of books she definitely knows more than she is letting on.
I am intrigued by what’s going on with Lilly’s parents; I think they are working on figuring out how to suppress the evil side effects the magic has so that the adept can keep their powers.
The adept are supposedly fighting the good fight, but in all of the action they are basically just running away. They are a group of 9 kids who have powers, they don’t appear to have any adult supervision and in total the resistance is a massive 28 people strong.
What a coincidence Lilly gets powers, I mean yes I was expecting it but it was just so obvious.
Overall I am a bit underwhelmed by this book; the Chicagoland Vampire Series is one of my favourite supernatural series so my expectations for this book were very high. Unfortunately this book did not live up to my hopes never mind I will just stick to Chloe Neills more recent novels long live Merit!!!

Chosen Hart by Ann Stewart & Stephanie Nash - DNF!!!

Chosen Hart by Ann Stewart & Stephanie Nash
DNF
Blurb - Elyssa Hart has tried to forget that frightful night during her freshman year of college. Since then it's been hard to let anyone close, which is why she only has one friend near and dear to her heart. Forsaking all others, she lives a silent, lonely existence. That was until she jumped into the next chapter of her life; Sales Executive at the prestigious Salerno Health, Inc.

The moment she met the always calm and collected Alexander James, her life was set on a new path. One moment she's slowly falling in love and the next she's plummeting painfully to the ground with the realization that you don't marry your dirty little secret; you keep her in the closet. That was, until she found out she was not his only kept secret.

Will the enigma of Mr. James be more than Elyssa can handle? Or will she choose him, like she promised she always would.
Chosen Hart is book #1 in the Hart Series and the first book I’ve read by this author.
Ok I’ve made it 50% of the way through this book and I can’t stand reading another word.
Sorry but this is a big fat DID NOT FINISH!!!
I tried really hard to get into this book but I just can’t get into it. I don’t like the characters and the story is incredibly frustrating.
Elyssa & Alex are behaving like teenagers, the jealousy is bizarre and Alex seems like a bit of a psycho. Elyssa is a doormat and there’s some really weird stuff going on with her BFF Cole.
I know I should finish it, I hate not finishing a book but I have so many books that I’m dying to read that I just can’t see why I would carry on reading a book I’m not enjoying out of principle.

Beautiful Ties - Book #4 in the Beautiful Series by Alicia Rae - 3 STARS!

Beautiful Ties by Alicia Rae
Blurb - While watching her brothers find their happily ever afters, Abbey dreams of falling in love. Smart, fun, and sexy, Abbey is

Three warm fuzzy stars
also independent and works hard alongside her brother, Kyle. When Kyle joins his business ventures with his wife’s cousins, Jason and Damon, Abbey struggles with keeping things professional.

Jason is instantly enamoured with Abbey, and he becomes determined to win her over. Although she does not want to mix business with pleasure, he works his way into her heart with his good looks and sweet charm.

All the while, Abbey begins building a friendship with a lonely neighbourhood child, Pearl. Abbey’s heart warms to Pearl, and their friendship quickly blossoms into a loving relationship.

Can Abbey find a way to balance her growing feelings for Jason with her need to take care of Pearl? Or will Abbey need to sacrifice one relationship for the sake of the other?

Beautiful Ties is book # 4 in the Beautiful Series and is the first book about Abbey & Jason.
This book is really nice, its warm fuzzy and a lot like a hot chocolate on a cold day, heart warming and comforting.
Ok so the good bits...
·         Jason & Abbey are a seriously cute couple.
·         Jason rides a Harley!!
·         Pearl is a real cutie.
And the not so good bits...
·         This book is almost too nice!!!
Now don’t get me wrong I enjoyed this book but it was missing something for me. It’s a lovely story about two lovely people falling in love and then becoming a family with a child who is desperate for a family.
Seriously what’s not to like, well nothing in theory but for me some adversity makes a love story all the more sweet, for me that’s what this book lacks.
Jason & Abbey meet and get together and fall in love and that’s lovely, it all happens very quick like a matter of weeks quick lol.
I love Pearl she’s the saving grace for this book for me, she seems like the brightest and most articulate seven yr old in the world but I still love her and the way she seems to draw people to her.
This is the perfect easy Sunday afternoon read; it’s warm and fuzzy and would go perfect with a glass of wine. It is an easy read when you are looking for an old fashioned romance novel.

Excerpt #1
“Okay, here’s the deal. I’m ready to date but I’m kind of lacking in experience.” I wait for their response but they say nothing, so I continue. “What I mean is that I haven’t done the things that you’re claiming men expect on a date.”
“Wait a minute.” Kayla sets her wine glass down. “Are you saying you’re a virgin?”
“Yes.” I sit up straighter, the wine boosting my confidence. “I’m a 23-year-old virgin.”
“Hold on.” Kayla puts her hand up like she’s stopping traffic. “How is that possible? I mean, I know you haven’t dated much but—”
“Don’t listen to her,” Paige says. “I think it’s sweet. And romantic. You’re saving yourself for marriage. A lot of people do that. Good for you, Morgan.” She raises her glass as if we should toast to my virginity.
I ignore her raised glass. “No, I’m not saving myself for anything. In fact I really just want to get the whole sex thing over with, especially now that I know men are expecting it by the third date.”
“That’s not true for all men,” Paige assures me.
“It’s all men.” Kayla pours herself another glass of wine. “So how could this not happen in college?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t go to many parties and I didn’t live in the dorms. I lived at home with my dad, so it just didn’t happen. Plus, I never made it past the first couple dates with a guy. I wasn’t interested enough in any of them to . . . you know.”
“If you can’t even say the word, you’re not going to be able to do it.” Kayla jumps up and starts pacing the floor. “Okay, we can fix this. I can find you a guy who would be more than happy to take care of this for you.”
“She’s not getting her car fixed here.” Paige shoots a dirty look at Kayla, then turns back to me. “You need to find someone who cares about you. Someone who will make this memorable for you.”
“I don’t know if I want it to be memorable. I think I might just want to forget it after it happens and move on.”
“Yes, that’s exactly what you should do,” Kayla says. “My first time was prom night junior year with this guy I was dating. I made it into this huge deal and then it was over in like a minute. And he dumped me the next week. So trust me, the first time sucks. You just want to get it over with.
“You should really think about this some more.” Paige uses her mom-tone, soft-spoken and concerned. “You’ve waited this long. What’s the rush?”
“I’m not in a rush. And I’m not saying I need to race out and have sex. I just need to start dating. But if this third-date rule is a real thing, or even if it’s four or five dates, then I don’t know what to do. I’m completely inexperienced.”
Kayla takes some cheese from the tray and plops down on the couch. “Just have sex and get it over with. I’ve already got someone in mind for you. I’ll see if he’s free Friday night.”
“Friday night? As in this Friday night? That’s so soon. I don’t think I can do that.”
Kayla gets up, grabbing her purse. “You can do it. I’ve gotta go.”
“Morgan, don’t listen to her. You’re not going to have sex with a guy just to get it over with. And you’re not doing it with some random guy.”
“Paige is right, Kayla. That’s just not me. I at least need to know the guy.”
“That’s why you’ll go to dinner first.” Kayla’s at the door, but she turns back and says, “Show me your underwear drawer.”
“What? Why?”
She races to my bedroom. I run to catch up with her, Paige following behind.
Kayla opens my top drawer and pulls out one of my bras. She holds it up. “What is this? Polyester? Beige? It doesn’t even have wires in the cups. No wonder you always look so saggy. Where do you even buy something like this?”
“They come in a two-pack,” I mumble. “You can get them anywhere.”
Paige stares at my beige bra, dangling in the air. “Um, maybe you could get one or two new ones. I could go shopping with you if you want.”
I snatch my bra from Kayla. “But these are really comfortable. And I don’t need that much support. I’m not exactly large-chested.”
Kayla takes it back and checks the size. “34C? That’s not small. You need new bras. Just throw this one out.” She tosses it on the floor and reaches in my drawer again. “Paige, look at this. It gets worse.” Kayla holds up a pair of my underwear. Pink cotton high-cut briefs.
“What’s wrong with those?” I try to grab them but she holds them high in the air. “They’re cut high up on the hip. They’re sexy.”
“You tell her.” Kayla says to Paige. “You’re better at saying things nicely.”
Paige looks at the underwear, then back at me. “Well, I kind of wore ones like that back in middle school. Not that you can’t wear them. I mean, you could work out in them, I guess. But maybe it wouldn’t hurt if you got something a little more, um, appealing to the opposite sex. Maybe something that doesn’t come in a pack of six.”
“What do you wear?” I ask her. “You’re married. You shouldn’t care what your underwear looks like.”
“I’m married, but I still want to look sexy.” She unzips the side of her skirt to reveal her silky black bikinis. “These are my weekday ones. I have better ones for the weekend.”
Kayla keeps snooping in my drawer. “That’s all you have in here? You don’t even have one decent pair of underwear? There isn’t even any variety. They’re all the same style.”
“I stock up every year during the back-to-school sales.” My voice trails off as I realize how pathetic that sounds. I’ve been buying back-to-school underwear! The kind meant for tweens! The kind that’s sold in six packs! “All right. Maybe I could use some new ones.”
Kayla tosses my underwear back in the drawer and closes it up. “I’ve gotta go. But we’ve got some work to do.”

Edge of the Enforcer - Book #4 Mountain Masters & Dark Haven by Cherise Sinclair - 4 STARS

Edge of the Enforcer by Cherise Sinclair
Blurb - One sadist. One submissive.
One extraordinary love.

Four The Enforcer Rocks Stars
WELCOME TO DARK HAVEN
AND MAY ALL YOUR DARKEST WISHES COME TRUE

Fleeing false murder charges, Lindsey lands in San Francisco. There she builds a satisfying life until, in the notorious Dark Haven BDSM club, she encounters deVries. Moth, meet flame.

A security specialist and occasional mercenary, deVries needs an adorable submissive like a knife to the gut. Hell, she’s not even a masochist. But here she is, all big brown eyes and sweet body and sassy mouth. Loyal. Tough-minded. Honest.

Or maybe not, considering her ID is forged. If she thinks to lie to him, she’ll learn better. He’s the Enforcer of Dark Haven—his discipline is absolute, his punishments harsh, and his heart untouched...until now

Edge of the Enforcer is book #4 in the Mountain Masters & Dark Haven Series, I’ve read a lot of Cherise Sinclair’s books and to be honest I think this is defiantly one of my favourites.
So the good bits...
·         Zander aka The Enforcer is yummy!!!
·         I love Lindsey she’s a Texan firecracker.
·         Dixon he’s like a little kinky fairy lol
·         This is a serious kinkfest!
The not so good bits...
·         Some of the kink was a bit too hardcore for me (knives are not a turn on for me!!)
·         A birdcage... WTF!
What Cherise Sinclair does incredibly well is write super kinky novels with loads of sex but she blends this with intrigue and action.
This book is seeped with suspense and the build up is written so beautifully I spent most of the book on the edge of my seat.
I loved Zander and Lindsey together he is a sadist Dom but he’s not an asshole with it. I found myself really engaging with Zander possibly a little more than with Lindsey, he is a total badass but as soon as he fell for Lindsey he changed into a total softy.
I liked Lindsey and I felt sorry for her because she was in an obviously bad situation but I didn’t find myself drawn to her. I liked that she was a strong character and even till the end she tried to be independent and not bring her friends into the dangerous situation she was running from.
There is plenty of hot sex in this book and Zander & Lindsey had some very heavy chemistry, Zander is a sadist and some of the heavier pain scenes were a bit much for me.
That being said this is still a very sexy book, I love Dixon and I love that they found Stan for him; I would be intrigued to read how their story plays out.
Like Cherise Sinclair’s  other series’ this has a real family feel to it and its lovely to see a group of strong Alpha men who can all be brought to their knees by their women.
I love the way the author writes action, her scenes are always full of suspense and although we all know that everything’s going to work out ok I still felt the tension and anticipation.
My main criticism with this book is that it’s similar to the others in the series but do you know what I enjoyed the other books too so if it aint broke don’t fix it.
I enjoyed this book it was super sexy but still a romance and hell the enforcer could punish me any day!!
