Romancing My Love
The Bradens # 9
By: Melissa Foster
Releasing September 15th, 2014

After months of caring for her terminally ill mother, Rebecca Rivera is left all alone in a world she doesn’t trust—but she’s determined not to let her mother’s death define her. Losing her job, having to pummel some jerk for being too handsy, and living in her car are just temporary setbacks to an otherwise solid plan in finding her footing. Full of pride and used to being in control of her life, she’s certain she can make it on her own. The last thing Rebecca needs is a man to fix her troubles—even if that man is strikingly handsome, wealthy, and charismatic Pierce Braden.

Pierce is a powerful real estate investor on the verge of a major acquisition. As the eldest of six siblings raised by a single mother, he’s spent his life protecting those he loves. He’s used to being in charge and making things right, and although he’d give his life for his family, he treats the women he dates as expendable—until he meets sexy and stubborn Rebecca Rivera, a woman who is as strong as she is vulnerable.

Passion ignites between them, and the two share their most intimate thoughts and desires. It doesn’t take long for Pierce to realize that Rebecca is as determined not to be saved as he is to find a way into her heart. As their love grows, Rebecca must face fears she didn’t even realize she had—and Pierce must learn the hard truth that sometimes less really is more. Is the power of true love enough for Rebecca and Pierce to learn to give up control and allow their hearts to take over?

My Review

Romancing my Love is book #9 in The Braden’s series but is the first book I have read by both the author and in the series.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes....

Romancing my Love is a standalone novel and I’m pleased to say that you genuinely don’t need to have read the rest of the series to understand what’s going on or to enjoy the story.

This book has a harlequin feel to it, now this isn’t a problem for me I was brought up on Mills & Boon novels.

The premise of the series is that the Braden’s are a large family of Alpha males who refuse to settle down and are basically man whores lol.

One by one the men all meet strong women who tame them and they fall in love.

For Pierce that person is Rebecca...

I love Rebecca’s intro, she kicks the shit out of a guy for groping her in a bar lol honestly this scene is pure genius and had me laughing out loud.

I liked that she was strong willed and in control in every aspect of her life but I also found that I didn’t really engage with her because I struggled to find anything to relate to.

Now Pierce I liked, he’s a rich alpha male and to me that assertiveness is incredibly sexy, unfortunately he dilutes his personality to be with Rebecca and I have issues with that.

I love that he wants to take care of Rebecca and I just wanted to shake Rebecca and find out why she would think that is a bad thing!!! I’m not saying she should just move in and spend his money but there’s nothing wrong with leading on someone and allowing your man to help you.

I loved the couples that we saw from the previous books they are all in love in that sickly sweet way that makes you grin and go arrrr.

Once Rebecca stopped being an idiot and realised that being supported by the guy you love is a good thing, I actually really liked Pierce and Rebecca as a couple they were adorable and practically inseparable.

I loved Jake the stuntman and I would love to read his book and find out what the women who makes him fall is like.

The words ‘Golly’ and ‘Gosh’ were used more than once lol really made me chuckle just brilliant.

This story is an old school romance, it’s sweet and pure and easy, personally I prefer a bit of grit but I can appreciate this book and its sunny day persona 3.5 stars.
