***Blog Tour - Stand of Redemption by Cathryn Williams - Stand #2 - 3.5 Stars***

***Blog Tour***                                                       Stand of Redemption by Cathryn Williams         Stand Series #2                                                   Released 25th Aug 2014

I’m Nicholas Brooks.

Everyone thinks I’m a nice guy, a local fighter who plays by the rules.

I’m not.

I killed someone when I was sixteen.

The women love me, but I use them.

All except Ria.

However, to have her, I’ll have to fight for her.

The pit isn’t for wimps, either. No rules—get the KO.

To earn redemption, there is always a price.

Even if I win, I lose. Because Ria just might be the price I pay.

My Review

Stand of Redemption is book #2 in the Stand Series; however this is the first book I have read in this series and the first book I have read by this author. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes....

This book isn’t at all what I was expecting and to be completely honest I’m bit sure if that’s a good thing or not.

Nicholas is not a bad guy, I actually really liked him. Don’t get me wrong he’s not a saint but I think essentially deep down his character is a lovely, sweet thoughtful bloke.

I actually feel like Ria is the more unexpected character out of the two of them. She comes across as innocent and down on her luck but as we learn more about her past it’s difficult to see her in that light.

I don’t want to give too much away but her family connections came as a shock to me, having no prior knowledge of Zane and Nicks background with Ria’s ‘Family’ every revelation was a OMG moment.

I really liked the darker side of this story, the underground fighting the mafia and the grittier side of the story really appealed to me and I was waiting for the next shocking revelation to be revealed.

I would have loved to see this book delve much further into the underbelly of Ria’s families’ world the darker the better.

I didn’t really feel too much sexual tension between Ria and Nicholas so once they hit a bedroom I didn’t have high expectations. How wrong I was!! As soon as they started touching the sex was smoking hot and a teeny, tiny bit dirtyJ.

I really enjoyed this book; I love the MMA aspect whats sexier than an alpha fighting man lol.

I would actually love to read Ty’s book his character really intrigued me.

I loved Ria being a total groupie at the end it really made me chuckle.

This book was good, I enjoyed it but I would have loved it to turn to the dark side a bit more so it gets 3.5 stars from me.

Tasty Book Tours Q&A with Nick and Ria
Nick and Ria are at Nicolas’s gym

~Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me today!  I have to say, you both look so cute together, it’s funny to think that when you first met, you didn’t necessarily “Like” each other….What were your First Impressions of each other?
“I thought that Ria was sexy and cute.”
Ria smiled at Nicholas’s answer. “I thought he was an arrogant prick.”

~Ria, how are things in the career department?  Where are you currently working?
“I’m currently working for the local hospital.”

~How about you Nick, get that Belt back from your Soon-to-Be Brother in Law?
“No, I’m moving up a weight division, I’m not anxious to have my arm broken again.”

~Nick, how are things with your Father and Sister, Melody?  Any Sunday Family Dinners recently?
“Actually yes. My father and Melanie are doing better. He went to one of her fight’s last week.”

~Ria, how about on your end, how is your mother?  Are you still involved in the Family “Business”?
“My mother is doing well.” She smiled at Nicholas. “Her and Nicholas’s father are dating. I am no longer involved in the family business.”

~Well…After all you have been through, I am happy to see you have found your HEA!  Let’s end the Interview with Three Things You LOVE about each other?
“I love that Ria wants to help other’s, that she’s not shy, and that she’s my biggest fan now.”
“I love that Nicholas was never afraid to face my family, that he takes a great picture, and despite my initial reaction that he can speak Spanish.”

It was during these early years that her love of literature began, starting with Nancy Drew and growing with the Sweet Valley High series stories. This passion grew with each book and has caused her to transition into writing her own stories. Cathryn’s inspiration stems from a diverse childhood, loving family, and oversized lapdog Scarlet.
