Dare to Submit by Carly Phillips

Blurb
- Decklan Dare knows about the unexpected loss
of loved ones and for this reason, he values control in all areas of his life.
Amanda Collins enjoys the freedom she finds in casual encounters without the
emotional connection a relationship brings. They meet and their physical
attraction is mutual but both experience feelings that could run deeper – if
they drop their guard and let each other in. Decklan is first to trust, but
when he discovers the secret Amanda’s been hiding, will he forgive? Or will he
rebuild every wall before she has a chance to explain?
Dare to Submit is
book #4 in the Dare to Love Series, and the first book I have read by Carly
Phillips. I was given a copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an
honest review so here goes...
This is quite a short book with a couple of
kinky elements, it’s not hard core BDSM so it’s suitable for anyone with a bit
of a dirty mind lol.
Carly Phillips tries to take a step into the
dark side with the dom/sub side of this book but for me this was more of a tiny
baby step rather than a full blown jump.
There is a sex club but the reader never actually
encounters any sex there, there was some light bondage and a bit of spanking but
that is really as saucy as it gets.
I liked both Amanda and Decklan but because this
is quite a short story I don’t feel that we got to know them that well.
Decklan has issues with being touched but we
never actually learn why??
I quite enjoyed the love story part of the book
and I wanted Amanda and Decklan to be ok and get their HEA. But being really
honest the only time I felt the sexual connection between them was at the club
and that was really only maybe 1% of the book.
Considering we only see him very briefly I
really liked Gabe, he seems like a nice broody anti hero which is just my cup
of tea!!!
I’m slightly disappointed by this book I was
sold it as erotic with a hint of kink and it just fell short for me. I needed
more kink and to be honest just more sex, it’s not a bad book but it was just
ok for me 3 stars.
