Seaside Hearts is
book #2 in the Seaside Summers Series and book #22 in the Love In Bloom Series.
This is the second book I have read by Melissa Foster, I was gifted this book
in exchange for an honest review so here goes....
This book is one
of the biggest loads of cheese filled, cheese flavoured, cheese I’ve ever
read!!!
Do you know
what.... What’s not to love about a cheesy love story?
I’m not sure how
old Melissa Foster is but regardless she read Mills & Boon, id actually lay
money on the fact that she loved Mills & Boon. Well Melissa so do I, so
does my mom and so did my grandma. In my opinion Mills & Boon is so
incredibly successful because what they do they do exceptionally well.
That’s how I feel
about this author, Melissa Foster does old school cheesy romance incredibly
well, you know exactly what you are going to get and you know that you are
going to enjoy it.
Jenna is a
classic firecracker with a bit of a saucy edge and Pete is an old fashioned
gentleman, this is classic romance territory and them as a couple works
incredibly well.
I liked that they
had a deeper connection than just sex and I loved the relationship between
Jenna and her girlfriends.
My main issue
with this book is that it hinted at being a tiny bit smuttier than normal, hell
anal was mentioned. Unfortunately this book is a bit of a tease as it was straight
down the line vanilla, nothing wrong with it but I did have my hopes up for a
bit of smut lol.
I enjoyed this book;
I read a wide variety of romance from YA and NA to contemporary and
even some
dark romances. But I never forget what got me hooked on romance novels to start
off with and that’s stories just like this!!
This is a great
standalone novel and although I’m tempted to read the books before and after I’m
confident that I could pick up another book in the series and not feel confused
or left out of the character loops.
This book is the
perfect book for a hot bath and a glass of wine, for me it just needed a smidge
less cheese so 3.5 stars!
