Crush is book #4 in the
Bayonet Scars Series. I love this series here are the links to my reviews for book
#1 Ride, Book #2 Thrash & Book #3 Rev. I’m a very lucky bunny and I was
gifted a copy of Crush in exchange for an honest review so here goes...
I liked both Cheyenne and
Jeremy in the previous book Rev, but they were both just cute teenagers,
somehow in Crush they become adults and I love them in this book!!!
This series has a confusing
timeline, all of the books overlap so even though book #3 Rev ended a couple of
years forward in time, Crush picks up time wise about halfway through Rev but
from Cheyenne and Jeremy’s POV. Now I would have agreed that this is incredibly
confusing which it seems to be but now that I’m 4 books into the series it
makes complete sense and somehow it seems to work incredibly well lol.
I think at times during this
book I actually forgot how young both Cheyenne and Jeremy actually are!! They
are 17 and 18 still babies really yet the world they live in means that they
grow up very quickly.
Jeremy is actually more of
the brooding silent type he actually doesn’t have a lot of dialogue, even
though he’s silly young there’s still something very sexy about him.
Cheyenne is a real
firecracker and although she is sometimes incredibly young and immature she does
have moments of being wise and world weary beyond her years.
I love that JC Emery made
Cheyenne and Jeremy’s romance age appropriate, as daft as it sounds it would
have been awful to read about kids behaving like 30 something adults.
From start to finish there is
an underlying feeling of fear and violence and I loved the tension. I was
already hooked on this series but god now I’m desperate to know what happens
next and how the mighty Italians finally fall!!
Although this book is technically
about Cheyenne and Jeremy their romance is actually only the front story in
what is turning out to be a very complex and intriguing series long drama.
I actually love how Grady is
around Cheyenne he is the quintessential over protective dad lol he just
happens to be a super violent biker with access to a myriad of weapons!!!
Everytime he went psycho dad I laughed my head off!!
I really enjoyed this book, I
love this series and I can’t wait for Ian’s book to come out.

“Well,” I say slowly. The idea's forming in my head, but it's stupid. I shouldn't be thinking about this. Ever. The only thing that can come out of this is a majorly broken heart.
“Yeah?” Tracie says, eyes widening and waiting for me to finish.
“What if we... sneak into the party at the clubhouse...” I say and then shove my face into my hands. I feel like an idiot. Jeremy and I had one date-- one truly awful date-- and we haven’t had a kind word to say to each other since I threatened to push him out of my bedroom window after he tried to maul me. But the idea of him turning eighteen at the clubhouse with all of the Lost Girls and the wanna-be whores who haven't earned the title yet leaves an uncomfortable feeling in my gut. I just want to know, to see what's happening for myself. Daniel's going to be there, too. He's still texting me, and I'm texting back now, so I kind of also want to know what he's up to. If he's hooking up with someone during the party, then he doesn't like me enough for me to continue to let him pursue me.
“You don't actually have to sneak in. The doors will be open,” Tracie says. “It's so loud and dark in there, I doubt anyone will notice us.”
“No, they’ll have security this time. Things are kind of tense with the club,” I say and wave the gun in the air. It’s a fine art—telling the truth without telling too much.
“They have prospects at the gate and I highly doubt any of them would be stupid enough to turn you away.”
