Razed by Shiloh Walker

Barnes Brothers #2

Tattoo artist Keelie Jessup can handle that someone else has claimed the man of her dreams. She’s just not pleased with her remaining options…

Keelie doesn’t believe in the “perfect man.” But the men who are worth the trouble are usually taken—like her business partner Zach Barnes. After a string of bad luck and the lost chance with Zach, Keelie decides that maybe flying solo—and living with suppressed desires—is the key to happiness.

As a photographer, Zane Barnes has an eye for the human form, and his eyes can’t get enough of Keelie’s curves. Unfortunately, Keelie is like most women—always fawning over his little brother, Zach. Zane is about ready to give up, but then a few stolen moments at his brother’s wedding have him thinking maybe there’s a chance there after all. Now he just has to prove that the perfect man does exist…for her.

My Review
4.5 Stunningly Visual Stars
Razed is book #2 in the Barnes Brothers series and the first book I have read by this author. I’ve been lucky enough to have been gifted this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes....

I’m going to be honest, when I read the blurb before agreeing to review this book; I was totally expecting a fluff story. A happy go lucky romance with some tatted up edge. Hell that’s all good with me, I’m a romance junkie and sometimes an easy read is the perfect read.

But with Razed I didn’t get a fluff story, I got a beautifully written, soulful love story. I actually loved everything about it, its deep and thought provoking and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!

Keelie is the type of character where you can see her layers. To some people literary characters are two dimensional things, but for me reading is equally as visual as a film. I imagine the characters vividly in my head and the more well written the characters are the clearer the picture becomes.

Shiloh Walkers characters are real to me, Keelie is the hard ass bitch who is really incredibly vulnerable and unsure, I can see her right down to the tattoos and bad ass attitude. Her character was endearing and engaging and I instantly invested in her and wanted to know what caused her sadness and fear.

Zane, god Zane the brooding silent type, he doesn’t need to say a lot to speak volumes. I absolutely adore him; he’s a tower of strength and fortitude. I really wish he was an actual person because the way I picture him he would be so beautiful you could stare at him for hours.

I’m tatted up, I love tattoos and I can even picture the ink and how amazing it is, this is such a visual book!!!

When Zane was showing Keelie the photos on his laptop I got goosebumps!!

I haven’t read the first book in this series but I didn’t really like Zach, perhaps it was the lingering weirdness with Keelie or just maybe comparing him with Zane that made him just seem lacking and shallow.

Travis is an intriguing character and his book will definitely be going on my TBR list as soon as the title is released.

I really enjoyed this book, I love that I was so completely surprised by this beautiful and poignant love story. Razed gets 4.5 stars from me.
