Blurb - Johanna
Walker is used to taking charge. But she’s about to meet someone who will make
her lose control....
It has always been up to Johanna to care for her family, particularly her younger brother, Cole. With an absent father and a useless mother, she’s been making decisions based on what’s best for Cole for as long as she can remember. She even determines what men to date by how much they can provide for her brother and her, not on whatever sparks may—or may not—fly.
But with Cameron MacCabe, the attraction is undeniable. The sexy new bartender at work gives her butterflies every time she looks at him. And for once, Jo is tempted to put her needs first. Cam is just as obsessed with getting to know Jo, but her walls are too solid to let him get close enough to even try.

Then Cam moves into the flat below Jo’s, and their blistering
connection becomes impossible to ignore. Especially since Cam is determined to
uncover all of Jo’s secrets …even if it means taking apart her defences piece
by piece.
Down
London Road is the 2nd book in the On Dublin Street Series by
Samantha Young, having finished On Dublin Street yesterday and loving it I immediately
went straight on to this book and I was disappointed. I’ve given this book a
swoon worthy 3.75 stars.
Samantha
Young’s ability to write good chemistry is amazing and from the very first time
Jo and Cam’s eyes meet you can feel the sexual tension rolling off them.
Ok so
the good bits....
·
I
love the fact that although this book is about Jo & Cam they are now part
of an ensemble with the characters from the first book. I love this group
dynamic and I think it gives you a better visual of the characters and their
personalities.
·
The
sex is HOT!!! I said it about the first book and I will say it again its seriously
steamy!!
·
Jo I
love the way her character has developed from the first book and then the
progression through this book.
The
not so good bits.
·
For
the first part of the book I really wanted to slap Cam don’t get me wrong he
grew on me once he stopped being a dick but I feel like someone needed to hit
him round the back of his head.
·
The
weird scottishness just dropped in lol there were a lot of ‘Aye’ and ‘wee’ just
randomly put in to remind you that the books are based in Scotland (very strange
lol)
If
you have read my review for the first book On Dublin Street you will know that
I struggled to find anything to complain about I loved it. Now don’t get me
wrong I enjoyed this book too but Jo’s self esteem issues were a bit much in
the end even though Cam and her friends manage to make her realise that she
have value and is a good person I still felt like she was a bit too co-dependent
on Cam and would have liked her to be able to cope without a man to hold her
up.
That
being said tattooed and a sex god id probably let myself get co-dependent
too!!!
Again
the sex in this book is steamy and erotic without crossing the line into
straight up porn lol and it had be happily fanning myself as I squirmed in my
seat.
Book
#3 Olivia & Nate’s story is available and I will definitely be reading it
as well as keeping my eye on this author for new stuff in the future.
