Bite Me, I’m Yours by Stacy McKitrick

Blurb
- Sarah's known monsters...and John isn't one. Sarah's life isn't going well.
She's divorced from an abusive jerk, been drugged, stuffed in her trunk and
nearly kidnapped. Between that and a harsh winter, it's almost more than a girl
can take. She's rightly distrusting of any man's affection, so an ice-skating
date with John - who doesn't seem to feel the cold - isn't exactly on her
bucket list. Yet something about him captures her attention.
John is determined to live as an ordinary mortal. He's moved into the city, bought a sports bar and works there as the bartender. As a new vampire, he's never considered dating, until he meets Sarah. Prudence dictates he stay away from her, but everything about her calls to him...right down to her cute animal socks.
Sure, finding out John is a vampire is scary, but Sarah's learned not all monsters have fangs. Besides, someone else isn't too happy about their budding relationship. Sarah will have to survive before getting her chance at love.
Bite Me, I’m Yours is book #2 in the Bitten by Love series but can be read as a standalone novel. I was given this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review so here goes...

Ok so the good bits...
·
Sarah this poor woman
has been through so much but she comes out smiling fair play!!
·
John he is the most
normal vampire ever lol!!
·
Perry he totally needs
his own book!!
And the not so good bits...
·
This book feels a bit
like Twilight fan fiction.
·
I’m just not sure about
this book.
I’m not sure how I feel about this book it was
ok but I didn’t find myself absorbed into the book and I didn’t have any
trouble putting this book down to do other things.
Sarah, this poor woman has absolutely no luck in
a matter of weeks she has two abduction attempts she is stalked by her abusive
ex husband, she is raped by her ex husband, is then abducted by a vampire then
given to a crazy serial killer. In the mean time she also has a car accident,
has her car trashed and almost falls down a flight of stairs several times.
If this was me I would move to the North Pole
and hide!!!! I mean seriously this was all a bit too much!!!
I liked John but he was a rubbish vampire, I
mean he has super strength and speed but he never uses them, he can control
humans but he doesn’t use that apart from criminals.
I appreciate that he wants to be mortal or as
mortal as possible but vampires are sexy and he just wasn’t.
Sarah was an unexpected sex pest she was
insatiable which was unexpected within a week of having been raped!!!
The author is obviously a fan of all things
vampire and for me I felt like there was a twilight type feel coming through.
My favourite thing about this book was Perry he
was a much more three dimensional character for me and I would be intrigued to
read his story.
I struggled to engage with either Sarah or John.
Poor Sarah is only 24 but has been beaten down by her ex to the point where she
is frightened to have opinions. I needed her to grow and gain strength in
herself but she didn’t she just swapped her ex for John and then needed his reassurance
that she could do things.
I love supernatural and especially vampire books
but sorry this one just didn’t do it for me 2.5 stars.
