***Release Day Blitz & Review - Be My December by Rachel Brookes - Out Now***

Be My December by Rachel Brookes
Release Date: August 28th
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Blurb:

I knew the exact moment I’d become a ‘yes’ girl.

December 16th, a cold winter’s night, four years ago.

The night my innocence was stolen, the night I made the mistake of saying no—a mistake I’d never make again.

The dream of a ‘happily ever after' was now a locked away myth. I promised myself that I’d never return to the place of my worst nightmare, that I’d never let anyone get close, but then again, I never thought I’d meet someone like him.

The intense, confident and beautiful Ky Crawford.

I had no plans to become someone’s Prince Charming.

I couldn’t be. I refused to be. My plan was simple—do whatever it takes to correct my biggest mistake, my one regret that now controlled my life.

I was on track. I had plans, but then everything changed when I saw her—the girl in the red jacket, the girl who I was told couldn’t say no.

The reserved yet stunning Eden Rivers.

A girl who can’t say no.
A guy who craves redemption.
A chance encounter?

It all comes down to this.
One question.
One month.

Be My December?

What Readers are Saying:

My Review

Be My December is the first book I have read by this author and having been given a review copy in exchange for an honest review I was eager to get started.

Ok so my first impressions of this book are a bit mixed.

I love Eden she’s a real enigma, you can feel her pain and anxiety but she tries to hide behind the false identities.

I liked her, I found her character endearing, she is trying to be a fighter unfortunately she is not really winning!!!

I don’t really understand the ‘can’t say no’ thing, this may be to do with the fact that she does actually say no to Ky. Now admittedly she freaks out after she says it but never the less she still says it.

Ky, I’m not entirely sure what to make of him at the start of the book he comes across as a bit of a weirdo.

I kind of feel like he takes advantage of Eden and her difficulty with saying no and at times I just thought he was behaving like a bit of a douche.

Right I’m going to say something now that people may take exception to but hey ho...... I understand that Eden went through a horrific, soul destroying; life altering event and that something like that is going to have a profound influence on her life.

BUT at times she is borderline pathetic!!!! She clings onto Ky like a limpet and he ‘rescues’ her on several occasions!!!

I’m so contrary because even though I hate how victim looks on Eden, once Ky stopped being a dick I kinda loved how he stepped into the knight in shining armour role, he has a sweet possessive personality and once Eden becomes less fragile I loved the alpha side that he flashed from time to time.

I found it very difficult to review this book without giving away any spoilers so all I’m going to say is that Jeremy is one of the most terrifying book characters I have read in a long time. His character was truly chilling and I had horror movie goose bumps whenever he appeared!!!

This book has a LOT of typos and grammatical errors and some points they became incredibly disconcerting!!

I’m so glad that this book ultimately had a HEA but at times I really had my doubts. The story twists and turns and the back story is revealed at such a slow pace that I half expected Eden to end up going home alone but at least living.

I struggled to connect to the love story here, I loved elements of it and the quiet moments when Eden & Ky were connecting were beautiful and moving.

I LOVE Josh & Ashlyn and hell I felt some sexual chemistry brewing between the two of them.

This book was in places an uncomfortable difficult read but I’m glad that they ultimately lived happily ever after 3.5 stars.
