Again Series by Theresa Paolo
(Never) Again & (Once) Again

Just when she had finally moved on…
…He moved back.

When college freshman Liz Wagner hears her ex's voice for the first time since he moved clear across the freaking country, she does what any respectable girl would do: Dive into the girls' bathroom.

Zach Roberts—the Zach Roberts—is back. And he’s everywhere Liz looks—infiltrating her friend group, buddy-buddy with her brother. It’s enough to ruin college altogether. But what choice does she have but to put on a happy face and pretend he didn't leave her vulnerable and alone in a pile of emotional wreckage?

Pretending works, until tragedy strikes and the only person available for comfort is the one person she wants to stay away from. When Zach turns out not to be the jerk she convinced herself he was, but the boy she used to love, Liz needs to decide whether to open her heart again to the boy who tore it out.

My Review
4 Fun, Flirty Stars

Never) Again is book #1 in the Again series. This is the first book I have read by this author and I was gifted a copy in exchange for my honest review.

It’s been ages since I have read a college romance so straight from the off this book made me smile. What also made me chuckle in agreement is that in the author bio at the back of the book it says that Theresa Paolo has a hard time accepting that she’s nearing 30 which is why she writes YA and NA books!!! I’m 31 and completely agree I love them because they make me feel young!!!!

Oh to be young and stupid again, cause lets me honest this book is daft!!! She loves him, he loves her it should be simple.

Do you know what though I don’t care that its daft, I loved that at 18 love can be the most complex thing in the world.

Liz is so incredibly young and naive but I really liked that she was so innocent and sweet, not every young girl has to be jaded and bitter. Liz is a nice young girl and it was a lovely change.

I loved that it’s Zach who has the geek to gorgeous makeover moment; he went away a skinny, spotty geek and came back a year later hot and ripped and a fully grown man lol!!

Joe is an ass she totally should have kicked his butt to the curb a lot quicker!!!

Zach seems so much older and more mature than Lizzie, I liked him but I do feel like a bit of a perv swooning over an 18 year old fictional character lol.

This book is the perfect New Adult sunny afternoon read. Whether you are trying to remember your youth or are young enough to relate this book will leave you with a smile on your face.

(Never) Again gets 4 stars from me.

Josh will have to reconcile his past…

In order to make Kat his future.

After surviving a real-life nightmare, Josh Wagner is sent home from his dream college on crutches. Bedridden and tormented by flashbacks, he’s just seen his world shattered and his baseball scholarship go up in smoke. Josh’s family hires a health aide to help take care of him, but when he opens the door, the last person he expects to see is his biggest regret…

Katherine Singleton is the only girl Josh has ever loved. Now, even though she’s only taking care of him because it’s her job, Josh is determined to win her back. But Kat had to move on after their breakup two years ago, and despite her feelings for Josh, a lot has happened since he left…

When Kat’s past comes back to haunt her, Josh decides it’s his turn to take care of her. But protecting her—and redeeming himself—will put Josh in the line of fire again. Will he survive this time?

My Review
4 Darker Than Expected Stars

Once again is book #2 in the again series.

I literally just finished (never) again and went straight into this book and to be honest I just expected more of the same. Fun, flirty college romance.

That isn't what I got!!

In fact they are sort of poles apart (once) again is the older bruised and battered sibling!

I LOVED Josh what a beautifully broken boy.

Theresa Paolo managed to tap into the intense and terrifying fear through Josh's flashbacks. It was so nice to see his vulnerability and guilt and not have them shown as a weakness but more as strength of character.

I liked this book it was unexpected and it had me completely engrossed.

Kat was so world weary, I genuinely forgot how young she was at times. I felt really sorry for her, to have been living a normal life to then in the blink of an eye have it ripped away from her and have to struggle to survive!!! No wonder she behaves like she is in her 40’s.

Again in this book the love between Josh and Kat was the simplest part of the story, it was obvious.

I don't want to give away any spoilers but it all gets a bit dramatic at the end!!! This poor couple can't get a break!!!

(Once) Again is much deeper and darker than the first book in the series and I preferred the more intense vibe it had.

(Once) Again gets 4 stars from me.
