My Review

4 Hard To Read But Glad I Did Stars

Christian is book #3 in the Mitchell-Healey Series which is a spinoff of the brilliant Mitchell Family Series (Heres a reading order for the Mitchell Family series). I’m a massive fan of Jennifer Foor’s Books and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been gifted copies of all three of the New Mitchell-Healey Family Series Books. This book is not like the previous books in this series; Christian takes a big leap into the darker side of things and deals with some difficult and upsetting subject matters.

To be honest I wasn’t really expecting this book to be anything but a romance, both Noah and Isabella were out and out love stories. Christian reminded me of the original Mitchell Family series that on occasion dealt with some darker issues.

I both enjoyed and kind of hated this book!! I loved Ethan and Christian’s friendship and the unique bond they created. Their relationship was heart warming and special but I think we could all also feel the underlying sexual connection they had.

On the flip side this book is also harrowing and disturbing, I feel like a warning is required and although this is a massive spoiler this book has a very descriptive rape scene which is traumatising and to be honest a little horrifying!!

This scene was unexpected in its intensity and to be truthful made me uncomfortable to a point where I considered stopping reading. What then followed and the way things were dealt with and how she was treated way just appalling!!!

This is definitely not a happy go lucky love story, its harsh and brutal and really highlights that sometimes humans are horrible, mean awful entities.

God the attacker is terrifying, charming one minute and then pure evil the next!!

I feel like I need to assure readers that this book does have a happy ending but for me someone needed to get his comeuppance a bit sooner and preferably by having his dick cut off!!!

This book was hard to read but I’m actually now really looking forward to the next few books in this series. Christian gets 4 stars from me.
