Jocelyn:
I’m already ablaze; my limbs kindling, a bed of embers smoldering in the deepest parts of me, but I need Bryce to strike - the accelerant to turn this fire within positively volcanic.
He uses the solidity of his broad, generous body to cover my own, persuading me downward, again flat on my back. Looming over me, awakened yet somewhat nervous and skittish despite my bold invitation, his eyes - colored like the sea I hear rolling in the distance - convey patient, loving understanding, and my nerves fall lax in ease.
His voice is guttural, strained with gallant consideration as he asks once more for reassurance. "Jocelyn, please be sure. If you give me this, I may ask for everything."
The things he says, so much a gentleman, the missionary-style accountant you met at a church picnic and know would always be good to you. But the way he says them, and the indecent, unfairly gorgeous body, mouth, and face they come out of... like the Adonis on billboards you refuse to believe actually exists but would let fuck you six ways to church on Sunday if he did.
He's the perfectly balanced blend of romantic, swoony porn.

"No more talking, unless it’s dirty." I smirk, lifting my hips in encouragement, longing for him to finish undressing me. It's in there, an animal - feral, primal, and all man; he's just holding back, thinking me a fragile prude of virtue. I’ve been that robotic version of myself far too long, and refuse to waste one second of Bryce Griggs on anything of the sort.

The Golden Locket by Primula Bond - The Unbreakable Trilogy #2 - 2 Stars!

The Golden Locket by Primula Bond

Two annoying stars
Blurb - Temptation would test them…

The second novel in the Unbreakable Trilogy, The Golden Locket follows Gustav and Serena to New York.

Ensconced in their Manhattan penthouse, all seems blissfully happy for Gustav and Serena. Still in the first flush of love, they have every satisfaction they could need.

But as they enjoy their New York pleasure ground, ghosts start to emerge from Gustav’s past, and when his damaged younger brother, Pierre, comes back into his life, he brings with him a dangerous threat…

With temptation waiting at every turn, can Gustav and Serena survive all the excitement that the Big Apple holds?

The Golden Locket is book #2 in The Unbreakable Trilogy here is my review of the first book The Silver Chain.
I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this book or this trilogy.
I feel like I have changed allegiance in this book and I now am a bigger fan of Gustav than Serena.
I spent most of the book wanted to shake Serena and shout ‘What the Hell Are You Doing’
I HATE Pierre and I just don’t understand why Serena just sits back and let’s stuff happen without telling Gustav!!!
The kink factor in this book is head and shoulders above the first book but instead of focussing on the bondage side of things for some reason this book has a bit of a thing for girl  on girl action.
I like Gustav in this book he is an idiot I love and we don’t see any of the weird stalker like tendencies that he exhibited previously.
God Polly needed a slap too what the hell was going on with her!!!
I’m not sure that I actually like this book, the sex seems forced and to be honest I feel again like Primula Bond throws in the ménage and lesbian stuff in the hope of being provocative.
Unfortunately for me it just didn’t work, the way the weird sex type scenes with everyone who fancied a grope were literally every other page was just a tad weird.
In this book Serena had full blown sex, received an orgasm from or kissed the following people.
-          Gustav.
-          The Weinmeyer’s both husband and wife had a grope on multiple occasions.
-          Mr Robinson’s daughter and her lesbian lover.
-          The two lesbian burlesque dancers.
-          Pierre.
-          Several unknown people at the party in Venice.
-          The stag and several of his guests Inc Toga Tomas from the first book.
Now that’s just off the top of my head there is probably more!!!
What really infuriated me was that on all of these groping sessions the author wrote it as though Serena was being forced to be involved because she simply could not say no!!!
I know that some may find that sexy and titivating but I just really didn’t sorry!!!
Now last but not least I am convinced that everyone with half a brain knows that Pierre & Margot are in it together to try and split up Serena & Gustav I think it’s completely obvious!!!!!
I’m sorry but im giving this book 2 stars!!! The worst thing about this is I have committed to read the third and final book as well hopefully it will resolve all of the intrigue.

Unforeseen Heartbeat by Maureen Mayer - Second Chances #2 - 4 Stars

Unforeseen Heartbeat by Maureen Mayer

4 Adorable Stars
Blurb - Used… Broken… Confused…

It only took one drunken mistake four years ago for Maddie Harrington to learn that when you fully give yourself over to a man, you should never expect anything in return. Since that night, her views on love have become distorted, believing men would only want her for the pleasure her body could bring them. She in turn finds herself hooking up with random guys, but never keeps them around long enough to see if there could possibly be something more.

That is…until Hunter Bryant enters the picture.

When the handsome pre-med student shows up in the right place at the right time, captivating her with his stormy gaze, she immediately pushes him away, thinking he’s no different than any other guy. The deeper Hunter delves into her life, trying to break through her iron-clad walls, the more she begins to question whether she is truly capable of opening her heart up to another man.

Maddie soon finds herself forced to make a difficult decision, one that will forever change both of their lives. Will she shut Hunter out of her life for good or will she finally open up her heart and allow herself the life she never dreamed she deserved?

Unforeseen Heartbeat is book #2 in the Second Chances series, having read the first book Relinquishing Liberty I was lucky enough to be given a review copy of Unforeseen Heartbeat by the author in exchange for an honest review so here goes...
I will be honest it’s been a while since I  read the first book  in the series and I had to do a quick reread of the end of book #1 to catch up.
Although this book is a standalone I would recommend that you read Relinquishing Liberty firstly because it will help you make more sense of this book, but mainly because it’s a good book lol.
Ok so I’m just gonna put it out there at the start of this book Maddie is a whiny little bitch!!!! I’m sure we are all thinking it but I’m just honest enough to say it!!!. She’s self absorbed and wallowing in her own little pity party and to be honest I didn’t like her at all!!!!
However I’m so glad that after being roofied she does seem to have a personality change for the better and I loved seeing the real, normal Maddie.
I’d forgotten how good the banter is between Maddie & Liberty and in places, the names they called each other were bloody hilarious!!
Now, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter..... SWOON!!!
He is just delicious, he’s protective and alpha as well as in uniform and a trainee doctor find me a women out there whose fantasy that doesn’t cover lol he’s the honest to goodness complete package!!!!
I loved the fact that he wooed Maddie and the sex was a long time coming so that she would know that he wanted to know her and not just sleep with her. Don’t get me wrong I wanted this book to get steamy but how sweet the romance part was just made me go arrrrr.
He left WTF!!!! For at least two chapters I will admit I thought he was scum!!! I’m so glad he redeemed himself!!!
I seriously think Brett needs his own book; he needs to get over Liberty and find his own forever love!!
I’m so  glad that Maddie didn’t spend the whole book hating on Shane, what he did at 18 wasn’t cool but hell it was a long time ago!!!
By the time things got steamy between Maddie & Hunter I think it would be fair to say that the chemistry was cracking between them. It made me chuckle that the author turned the typical on its head and made Maddie the sexual aggressor!!!
I wasn’t expecting the stalker twist and although I won’t say who it is, I had my sneaking suspicions who was responsible.
This book is lovely it’s an old school romance with a twist of action and drama; I loved it and now can’t wait for the third book Bittersweet Catastrophe to be released. This book is a heart-warming 4 stars!!!

Excerpt

I look down at my cell and it’s 4:54pm. No sign of Ethan. No text to explain. What a douche. I mean, okay so I needed to be here anyway to collect books, but that’s not the point. He didn't know that. I can’t stand people that make plans and then break them without warning. It takes two seconds to send a text.
I’m packing up my things when Ethan Jamison barges through the library doors. He’s panting like he’s out of breath and his eyes are frantically scanning the almost empty room. Then they land on me. I stand completely frozen, mouth gaping like a total moron. Of freakingcourse it has to be that Ethan. He makes his way over, and the sound of his boots echoing through the otherwise silent room awakens me from my dumbstruck state. Emily’s letter flashes in my mind and I feel instantly embarrassed. Like, somehow he knows about it, which of course, he can’t, but I’m still panicking.
He stops a few feet short of my table and looks a little unsure. This isn't the cocky Ethan Jamison that struts around school thinking he’s god’s gift. It’s thrown me a little.
“Hey, um…I’m Ethan,” he says, looking down at me. He lays his guitar case down at his feet and then adjusts his backpack on his shoulders. “Are you the tutor, I mean, sorry…are you Blair?”
I never realized how tall he actually is up close and personal. I’ve seen him play at a gig for about two seconds once, but he was on a stage, so of course he’s gonna look taller than everyone else. Emily and I have only stalked him at a distance. His blue eyes are boring into mine and I'm just standing there. Staring. Like an idiot. He shifts his weight and I realize he’s asked me a question. I still haven't replied. Shit.
“Er…yeah, I’m Blair, nice to meet you. I was just about to go, I thought you weren't coming. You’re late.” The last part comes out all pissy like I'm mad at him.
An amused grin starts to form; his mouth pulling up slightly at one side and the boy has dimples—real life honest-to-god dimples.
I shake my head and practically bark out, “I’ve been waiting for you for almost a half hour. If you’re gonna be late when we meet, you could at least give me a heads up?” Oh my god, why the hell am I telling him off?
His smile widens and he’s not even trying to look sorry. He drops his backpack on the table and takes a seat.
“Yeah, I had practice and it ran over. Steve has a no phone rule, so it’s kinda hard to let you know when I don't have my cell.”
Steve is the music professor; he’s got the new age hippy vibe going on and makes all his students call him by his first name. I pull my chair back out and take a seat. “Okay. Well, um, let’s just get started then.”
I look up and his eyes are zeroed in on my chest. What a complete douche, he’s already ogling my boobs. I cough twice and raise my eyebrows in a ‘what the hell, my eyes are up here’ stare, and his cheeks immediately redden.
“Shit, no, I wasn't checking you out! I mean…um, I wasn't staring at your…fuck, well I kinda was but I mean, shit; I was just trying to read what your shirt says.”
Holy crap, this guy’s more awkward than I am.

Promises Hurt is the opening novel in this series and the first book I have read by this author.
I was given this ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review so here goes...
I want to make one suggestion to anyone planning on reading this book, GET SOME TISSUES READY!!!
I cried within the first few chapters of this book and I don’t mean one solitary tear rolling down my cheek. No I mean proper ugly crying where you get red and blotchy lol!!
I loved this book it was both sad and uplifting all rolled into one.
I loved Ethan & Blair they are only young and so this story should feel juvenile and innocent but it doesn’t. In fact this feels like a mature and grounded story of two young people who have already seen too much of the darker side of life.
I really engaged with Blair she has given up so much of her teenhood to stay with her terminally ill friend that she ends up 18 years old but on the periphery of life.
God poor Ethan he’s a pure but tortured soul and I really just wanted to reach in and give him a hug!!!
This whole book really played on my emotions and at the end when it finished with a cliff-hanger I honestly felt like my emotions had gone on a serious rollercoaster ride.
I love a good bit of angst in a book but Elle Brooks has brilliantly managed to intertwine the joy of first love as a teenager with the tragic realities of living with an abusive parent and suffering lose and death at such a young age.
This book is beautifully written and I got completely sucked in and taken on a journey.
I can’t believe how this ended and I really need the next book like NOW!!!
Even though this book is tinged with darkness and unhappiness it still shines with a love conquers all feeling!! In a tragic loss and a friends dying wish Ethan & Blair find each other and the love they feel for each other will help them deal with the future and finding happiness again.
I loved this book, it made me cry, laugh and go ahhhh it’s the perfect read for a sunny day with a glass of wine I give it 4 stars!!

Hold on Tight by Abbi Glines - Sea Breeze #8 - 5 Stars!!!

Hold on Tight by Abbi Glines

Five Bloody Brilliant Stars!!
Blurb - Six years ago, Dewayne Falco's life changed. He lost someone he never expected to lose. Resigned to punish himself for something he felt he could have prevented, he goes through life without getting too close to anyone.

What he didn't expect was for the girl across the street to move back home and remind him of what they both lost: Dewayne's younger brother Dustin. However, when a miniature version of Dustin opens the door to greet him, Dewayne realizes he might not have lost everything after all.

Sienna Roy loved Dustin Falco most of her life. He was the boy next door, the high school basketball star and her best friend. But when his life was cut short, she realized he left a part of himself behind.

Now, she's back in Sea Breeze, thankful to have a home for her and Dustin's son, but not sure if she can ever forgive the people across the street who abandoned her when she needed them the most — The Falcos.

Betrayal, lies, and forbidden attraction might end Dewayne and Sienna's story before it's even begun.
Hold on Tight is book #8 in the Sea Breeze Series, I will admit now that I’m a massive Abbi Glines fan and to my knowledge I have read all of her books so far!!!
I’ve had this book sitting on my ereader since it released but I’ve put off reading it, this might sound daft but I know that I will enjoy this book so I have saved it until I needed a good book lol.
Well I’ve read a spate of mediocre books and I needed a guaranteed pick me up so I broke out good ole Abbi Glines and yet again I’m so glad that I did.
As there are 8 books in the series so far here is a series reading order in case you have missed any.
Hold on Tight is Dewayne & Sienna’s book, but to be honest we haven’t really learnt that much about Dewayne in the previous books in the series apart from the fact that he is a bit of a man whore lol.
Can I say it now I LOVE Dewayne, Krit (Bad for You) is my favourite Sea Breeze boy but Dewayne comes a very close second!!!
He comes across all badboy, tatted up with a bit of an attitude but really he’s a hot alpha. He’s protective of his family and friends and is a bit of a letdown in the badboy arena lol.
I love Sienna, all of the female leads in this series are feisty but Sienna has the life experience to back it up.
Mama T & Grandpa Dave were adorable but as good as the romance and everything else was, for me Micha completely stole the show!!!
To say that Dewayne & Sienna had chemistry could literally be the understatement of the year!!!
I loved the enduring passion they had for each other that had spanned for years, I kinda felt like Dustin was a bit of a douche. Even at 14 and 17 I was willing Dewayne & Sienna together.
God is it just me or is hot alpha man saying ‘mine’ about the women he loves just ridiculously sexy. I mean seriously I was just a big ole puddle of mush when he was camping out on the porch!!!
Dewayne has a very dirty mouth and hell that works for me, he oozed sex appeal and the sex scenes did have me squirming in my seat.
I really hope that this isn’t the last book in this series but I fear that it might be although I still think that Green needs his own book too!!!
I absolutely loved this book, its sweet, sexy and had me grinning and swooning at the same time 5 Stars from me!!!

Twist of Fate by Ella Fox - Renegade Saints #2 - 4 Stars

Twist of Fate by Ella Fox

Four absolutely lovely stars
Blurb - One night that changed everything.

Leah Cooper was an absolute mess caught in a downward spiral until Gavin Wilde made a brief appearance in her life at a critical moment.

Years later a Twist of Fate brings them back together again.

Leah needs special loving care to bring her back to life and Gavin Wilde is just the man for the job.
Twist of Fate is book #2 in the Renegade Saints series but is also a spinoff from The Hart Family series.
I’m abit of an Ella Fox fan so I’ve read all of The Hart Family books as well as the first Renegade Saints book and I loved them all!!!
This book is a lovely feel good read and although it is a standalone I would recommend that you read the other connected books to get a full appreciation.
Leah is such a sweet character; she has gone through so much that it’s amazing that she isn’t rocking in a corner.
I love Gavin he’s a genuinely honest to goodness nice bloke and that’s a rare sort. I normally prefer my book boys brooding and alpha, but something about Gavin just makes me swoon!
Gavin & Leah have chemistry but it’s more of adoration and love rather than sizzling sexual desire but I kind of like that. Given what Leah has been through it would be unrealistic for her to be jumping into Gavin’s bed.
I liked that they became friends first, I really became engaged in the relationship and I wanted them to be together and to overcome their issues.
As I’m a massive fan of The Hart Family books for me it was great that we got to see some of Leah’s perspective of things that happened in the previous books, and I loved that the character were all there in some respect.
I loved Cole & Tyson and I can’t wait to read their books, I think that Tyson is going to end up with Gavin’s sister Gabriella!!!
This book’s is sickly sweet and generally lovely, I smiled my way through the whole book and came out feeling like the world is a lovely place lol. This book gets 4 smiley happy stars from me!!

Mischief in Miami by Nicole Williams - Great Exploitations #1 - 2 Stars

Mischief in Miami by Nicole Williams

Two far too short stars
Blurb - Seduction. Infidelity. Blackmail. Scandal. It can all be bought for the right price and for Sienna Stevens, business is good.

Because she’s in the business of Great Exploitations.

She’s an Eve, a member of a secret society of women contracted by the wives of wealthy, powerful men for one reason and one reason only: to seduce their husbands. To ensure their pre-nuptial agreement will be null and void thanks to a little loophole known as the Infidelity Clause. To ensure that those wives don’t find themselves on the other side of a divorce without a penny to their name.

When it comes to the Eves, Sienna’s one of the best because she follows the number one rule of the Eves to the letter: don’t let it get personal.

When the job file of her wealthiest client yet falls into her lap, Sienna realizes that this case could be the one that’s impossible to detach herself from. The payout would lead to her independence, but will the cost be too high in the end?
Mischief in Miami is the first book in the Great Exploitations Series by Nicole Williams; I read and loved the Lost & Found and Crash Series so I’m always excited to read more books by a great author.
I’m sorry to say that Mischief in Miami just didn’t work for me. I swing backwards and forward about novellas but ultimately they are just not long enough to get really involved in the characters and storyline.
This book is incredibly short!!! We meet an Eve aka Sienna who is employed by women to trap their husbands and catch them whilst they are cheating. This allows the wives to divorce their husbands and negate their prenuptial agreements.
Now this is a brilliant idea and the book should be sensational but I just didn’t get a chance to enjoy it.
For me the enjoyment of a book is getting to know and understand the characters as much as it is the storyline. At the end of this novella I’m literally none the wiser who Eva/Sienna is I mean we don’t even know what her real name is!!
Now please don’t get me wrong I understand why the author has made everything so vague it’s all about intrigue but I’m not really intrigued, I’m just not really that bothered.
Sorry feels like I wasted money and reading time 2 stars from me!
